Is Sand & Cement Right for You?
Sand & cement has been the material of choice for render in the UK for decades, and it's still what many homes across Essex are currently coated in. It's our most affordable render system — but it's worth understanding the trade-offs before you choose it.
Sand & cement is more affordable up front than silicone or monocouche, but it has the shortest lifespan of the three, and can be prone to cracking on timber-frame properties or where a building naturally moves a little. Unlike silicone or monocouche, it also needs painting once it's dried — so when you factor in the cost of that paint job and its shorter overall lifespan, the total cost over time often ends up close to a coloured render system, while taking slightly longer to finish. We'll always talk you through this honestly rather than just recommending our most expensive option.
